Milestones from 1 to 2 Years

July 6th, 2009

Development within babies is what every parent awaits to see with great anticipation. Every particular action requires preparation within your babies. The development within babies varies due to many external factors.

Nutrition plays a vital role in development. Apart from that, sleep is the maximum growth period. Sleep time varies with your baby’s age. This is why new born babies sleep almost all day. Each day your baby grows and the muscles in his body increases with time. By the time your baby reaches one year, he will begin to pick things up, try getting into a standing position, feed himself and clap his hands.

In order to ensure maximum growth you must feed the baby with a more nutritious food. Development is poor in a malnourished baby. At about 13 to 15 months, your baby will not only play with toys but also try to walk. But this time he walks without support. People say some babies walk at about 6 months but this is too unusual. Toys are useful for development of babies. Try playing a bosendorfer baby grand piano in front of your baby. You will observe that your baby will try to dance moving his hands and legs. He will walk fully and climb stairs at about 18 to 20 months. He will also learn to play with building blocks and feed himself well. At this age he will be fond of cartoons and talk a few words.

As soon as your baby reaches his second birthday, he will become more active and get indulged in mischief quite often messing things around. Now this is your part to maintain safety precautions at home. Since every child is different, you need to be more or less careful about your baby. At this time your baby will dump and fall into everything and hurt himself too often. See to it that he does not hurt his head because head is still very sensitive and internal injury might affect later.

Many sweet memories are associated with these development stages so enjoy it as much as you can.
