Would you like your baby to look smart and fashionable? The answer to that is probably yes, as after all our babies deserve to be dressed as well as we are. Well now your baby can look fashionable too as there are loads of gorgeous baby clothes available to buy. You can buy anything you want on the internet, from newborn baby to designer baby outfits, and even gorgeous premature baby outfits.

Our children are a reflection of us as parents so it’s really important to us that they look presentable and cute. It’s also loads of fun finding gorgeous little baby outfits to suit every growing personality.

If your preference is for designer baby outfits for your little ones many designers now offer baby ranges, including DKNY, D&G, Armani, Chloe, Evisu, Diesel, Burberry, Dior, and lots of others. So whatever your favourite designer label is you can now dress your little one in the same threads.

Don’t worry if you can’t justify buying designer baby clothes though as there are many excellent, less expensive brands that make gorgeous baby clothes. There are really fashionable outfits available for both girls and boys, for a lot less than the designer cost.

One of these brands is Baby Gap, as their clothing has always been very popular. They are still going strong with some fabulous designs for baby boys and girls. They also do a range for toddlers in sizes 1 to 5 years, and the quality of their clothing is equally as good for both babies and toddlers.

They offer different collections for different activities so whether your kids are out getting mucky or getting dressed up for a party Baby Gap has something suitable.

Most baby clothes are made for babies from 0 to 24 months but sizes vary between labels so it’s a good plan to look at a size guide if possible for each label. You’ll probably get to know how the sizes differ between brands over time.

As a general rule girls and boys are usually different sizes at the same age. Most kids are different sizes for their age anyway, so it’s a good plan to measure yours and then look at the sizes in centimetres as well as age.

If some clothes don’t fit when you get them you can just exchange them for another size, so there’s no need to sizing worries spoil the fun of looking for cute baby outfits for your little ones. It’s just as much fun as shopping for yourself but the end result is better as you get to see your baby all dressed up and looking really smart.

What Are The Benefits Of Breast Feeding?

July 2nd, 2009
Comments Off

Of course you want to give your baby the best start in life and breast feeding is the single most important thing you can do to protect your baby and help to promote his good health. Another of the many benefits of breast feeding is that it costs absolutely nothing!

While breast feeding can save you a lot of money on buying formula, it can also help with your medical bills. Statistics show that breast fed babies get sick less often than formula fed babies. When they do succumb to illness they usually have a milder form and recover much quicker. Bottle fed babies suffer more often with respitory infections, ear infections and other medical problems.

If there is a history of allergies in your family, breast feeding is even more important. Breast milk contains antibodies which are transferred to her baby during feeding. These antibodies protect her baby from allergies, food sensitivities and other illnesses until her baby’s immune system is mature enough to make his own antibodies.

Sucking on the breast will also help with the development or jaw alignment and the development of the cheekbone.  For this very reason, there is less of a need for costly orthodontic work when the child gets older.

Unlike formula, breast milk is always ready, always available, convenient, and always the right temperature for feeding.  Plus, it contains all of the vitamins and minerals your growing baby needs, saving you a lot of money.

Breast feeding also offers many benefits for the mom as well.  The baby sucking at the breast will cause contractions right after birth, leading to less bleeding for the mom, and helping her uterus to it’s shape before pregnancy much faster. Breast feeding will also burn calories, so a mom can lose weight much faster than if she fed her baby with a bottle.  Breast feeding will also create a special bond with the mother and the baby - which is one thing formula simpy cannot do.

If you’re a mom who’s unable to breast feed for one reason or another, this article is not intended to make you feel bad in any way. Bottle feeding is still a good option and there have been some considerable improvements to the formulas available today with added nutrients such as probiotics and omega 3.

Caring for Baby’s Health: The Safest Organic Crib Mattress

July 1st, 2009
Comments Off

Babies spend a regular 16 hours lying in his crib. That is enough reason why a parent ensures that there is nothing in baby’s crib that can harm his health. The first thing to consider then is the crib’s mattress, where the baby lies often. Parents who value earth-friendly products or push for sustainability should enjoy the benefits of having an organic crib mattress for their babies.

What is the reason why an organic crib mattress is a good baby product to buy? The primary aspect you should delve into is the materials that make it up. Most commercial crib mattresses are made from not so friendly materials and they use formaldehyde as sealant which is what baby will be breathing in for as long as he lies on his crib. These baby mattresses also contain PBDE or polybrominated diphenyl ether, a flame retardant that is linked to SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and most cases of cancer. Organic crib mattresses compose of 100% natural cotton, wool, or organic-based rubber. With an organic crib mattress, you are sure that baby lies on a non-toxic and hypoallergenic bedding which keeps him safe from substances that can be harmful to his health. No matter how long baby is laid on the crib mattress, he won’t be susceptible to rashes and any unhealthy skin condition as well as chemicals that might cause respiratory problems or bacteria that might bring in diseases.

Organic crib mattresses will cause no problems with dyes and metals that might cause serious health problems for your baby in the future. Instead of formaldehyde, the sealant used for these rib mattresses is a tree-based oil and not formaldehyde which can cause respiratory complications for your baby. There are organic crib mattresses that are moisture resistant and it makes them easy to clean and wash. A high quality organic crib mattress can be used as baby’s blanket when he’s cold.

Some add-ons are found in some organic crib mattresses like bumpers and comforters that are also made from the same organic substances. You may think that because it is organic it would have a queer look; on the contrary, you can find organic crib mattresses of stylish and sleek designs which are more pleasing to the eyes than any synthetic material.

Using organic crib mattresses gives parents peace of mind since they can be sure that baby is not exposed to harmful substances that may cause any respiratory complications even if he stays on his mattress for long hours every day.

Should You Buy A Baby Monitor?

June 30th, 2009
Comments Off

It is scientifically proven that a mother is attuned to the sound of her baby crying. This can be at any time of day or night, no matter how tired she is, right? Wrong! Oftentimes, especially during the early months of your baby’s life, both parents are very, very tired. This normally means that as soon as they fall asleep, they will go into a deep slumber, due to their lack of sleep. Baby monitors are normally a good way to ensure that if their baby cries, you will be able to hear and respond accordingly.

A lot of parents will invest in a baby monitor, especially if their infant’s bedroom is far away from their own, or at least out of earshot. Most people think that they only need baby monitors if their child’s bedroom is far away from their own, but this is not necessarily true! There may be times, whilst you are in your deepest moments of sleep, when your baby cries and you may not hear!

Another good reason to invest in a good baby monitor is that there may be times when you are watching TV, or totally absorbed in conversation. Its true that most people will still be able to hear their baby crying, but there are always times when it can be missed.

If you have your baby monitor on at all times, you may find that you start reacting to every little sound that your baby makes. Baby monitors are extremely useful, but they can also be a bit of an obsession. Remember that if your baby is not screaming at the top of its lungs, but is only making weird grunts and moans, it is probably still sleeping peacefully. Parents tend to jump at the first squeak out of their tot, when it is really not necessary. In time you will become used to your baby’s cries and which ones you should be worrying about and responding to.

Baby: A safe sleep

June 29th, 2009
Comments Off

Throughout the whole day, newborns spend most of their time sleeping. They can sleep for more than 16 hours in a day, spending up to 3 to 4 hours sleeping during each rest period. Hence considering the huge amount of time infants sleep, it is essential to identify the safety issues when babies go to bed.

First and foremost, co-sleeping can be very dangerous. For parents who are heavy sleepers, they might inadvertently crush or suffocate the baby. In addition, babies usually co-sleep together on their parents’ bed, there are heavy quilts and blankets that may accidently be placed over their face and cause babies to suffocate too.

Looking at all these dangers of co-sleeping, try to let your child sleep in a baby nursery bedding. Sleeping in a baby bedding will have no risks of parents accidently turning onto their babies. Furthermore, usually in cribs, there shouldn’t be any adult’s heavy quilts and blankets that may cause the baby to choke while sleeping. Therefore, parents are encouraged to get a baby nursery bedding for your little one to sleep in as it is safer than co-sleeping with the baby’s parents.

The use of blankets has also been discouraged by many as they fear that the blanket may carelessly cover the baby’s head, however some parents are worried that their baby may catch a cold at night. In fact, there is a safe way of using a blanket that can avoid such incidents from happening during the baby’s rest. Just make sure that when your baby is in the crib, both feet should be touching the end of the crib and the blanket shouldn’t be higher than his chest. In this way, your baby will not be covered by the blanket so easily and it will be safer for your baby when he sleeps at night.

Letting your baby to sleep on her back is one safe way of sleeping too. Babies sleeping on their front may expose themselves to possibilities of choking when your baby faces down on the mattress. Infants are too feeble to turn over or shift themselves out of a dangerous position. Therefore letting your child sleep on her back in the baby nursery bedding will be the safest option.

Some babies sleep better on their front because their heart feels close to something which makes them feel safe and at ease while sleeping. However, it is still not recommended to let your child sleep on her tummy until, maybe when she has the ability to be able to roll over in bed by herself.

When your baby goes to bed, try to let your baby wear light sleep clothing to prevent your baby from “overheating”,. The nursery room should be kept at a comfortable temperature and in such manner your baby will feel neither too cold nor warm. In the event.

Look closely at all these points and assess your baby’s sleeping area carefully. Let your precious one sleep safely and pleasantly and you will be able to sleep well without worries too!

June 26th, 2009

Puppy Grows & Knows is a new Fisher Price computerized dog that teaches small children to properly care for their pets. Children can learn to take responsibility for the puppy as it is their very own pet and baby to take care of. This puppy toy is a good size.10″ h x 12.00″ w x 8.30 inches and weighs 4lbs.15 pounds. As the child shows this toy puppy the love, attention and TLC that all animals really want and need, the puppy will grow into a bigger dog in four days. Its body, legs, ears and tail will grow, little by little, each day, as the child interacts with it daily, playing its programmed games. In the box is two games which includes a dog barking game and songs. Puppy grows can learn its name, owners name, friends name and even personal things such as a childs birthday.

This cute little puppy comes in white poodle or yellow golden retriever, and has a CD-ROM with it in order to program it to interact with your child. This interactive dog is an educational toy teaching values and responsibility. Puppy grows comes with a tape measure, which allows the child to measure puppy daily to see how much it has grown. Also included is a brush, bone, puppy growth chart and a certificate to put the new name on. When puppy grows to complete size, it can be put back to puppy size again for even more enjoyment.

A happy customer who recently bought this product for her three-year-old daughter states, “I purchased this puppy through Amazon for my daughter’s Christmas present this year. My daughter loves the puppy grows and has even named him Dillon, he is played with every single day. When the puppy grows over the period of days, it will also say more and more sentences and interact with your child. We thought at first that we had a faulty puppy, as it only ‘grew’ on the first day and not on the other days, but reading-up on the internet we found that if you replace the ‘demo’ batteries it comes with, then it functions correctly. He loves this toy.”
